NON-TECHNICAL POPULAR CATEGORIES (NTPC)LEVEL - '2'12th (+2 stage) or its equivalent examination with not less than 50% marks in the aggregate. 50% marks is not to be insisted upon in case of SC/ST/ Ex. servicemen.
TECHNICIAN CATEGORIESLEVEL - '2'Matriculation/SSLC plus Course completed Act Apprenticeship / ITI. No other qualification including Diploma in Engineering will be accepted as an alternative qualification. Act Apprenticeship / ITI Certificate must be approved by SCVT/ NCVT.
LEVEL - '1'LEVEL - '1'Matriculation / SSLC pass Or ITI Or equivalent Or National Apprenticeship: Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.

Pay Scale Southern Railway - Level - '2' & Level - '1' salaries are approximately Rs.5,200/- to Rs.20,200/-
