What is Agricultural Engineering?
Agricultural engineering is also known as Agricultural and Biosystems engineering. It is an application of Engineering science, the field of study, agriculture purposes of design principles, and a combination of various environmental, civil, mechanical, electrical, software, chemical engineering, and food science disciplines to ensure the sustainability of renewable and natural resources.
The sub-disciplines of Agricultural engineering are Agricultural Structures, Agricultural Machinery, Forestry Engineering, Biomechanics & Ergonomics, Agricultural Surveying, Aquaculture, Land Development, Irrigation, Pesticides, Land Development, Soil Management, Precision Agriculture, etc. Agricultural education is the teaching of natural resources, land management, and agriculture. Works conducted by an Agricultural Engineer:
Agricultural engineers have to perform the tasks of supervising, planning, and managing the building of dairy schemes, flood water control systems, drainage, irrigation, conducting environmental impact assessments, interpreting research results, and conforming relevant practices. Most per cent of agricultural engineers work for government agencies or academia. Agricultural experiment station equipped with experimental farms and laboratories has each land-grant university.
Different levels of education in Agricultural Engineering:
Elementary education is taught in schools that cover the subject growth of plants and animals and how soil is conserved and farmed. Vocational training is given to training eligible to get jobs and trains in areas of production, marketing, and conservation. In College agriculture, people are trained to teach or conduct research to advance the fields of food science and agriculture.
General education tells the public about food and agriculture. The engineer of agriculture tries to solve the problems of power supply, use of structures and facilities, pollution, checks the efficiency of machinery, and the issues of the environment. The agricultural products storage and Processing are also maintained by the engineers. They try and develop better solutions for animal waste disposal.
